I don't know how many of you have been following the story of Stacy Peterson but being that I have an obsession with the news and watch it constantly I have been interested in this story (as I am with most missing persons stories).

Stacy Peterson has been missing since 10/28/07 and while that doesn't seem long, her story has garnered much press because of her husbands seeming involvement with her disappearance. Stacy is the fourth wife of Drew Peterson and his third wife died under suspicious circumstances and was recently exhumed in order for the medical examiner to perform another autopsy because, though her death was ruled and accidental drowning, there was no water in the tub when she was found and there were suspicious lacerations on her scalp that were not addressed in the cause of death. Drew maintains that he had nothing to do with either circumstance and today pleaded with Stacy to come home.

Now my question is this, it's been more than 2 weeks since she went missing and no one has seen her presumably. Also, there presumably has been no activity on her cell phone or charge cards. Wouldn't there have been at least some indication that she was still alive and only "ran away" by now? Obviously if she is only run away then she means to stay away from Drew and has no problem with being considered dead to him. From the media reports of their relationship from family and friends, it was rocky and abusive even if only considered borderline, I would think she maybe MEANT to be missing if she isn't dead. And if she is dead, then she left enough information about their relationship that it seems very probable that she expected him to kill her even if he didn't.

10:11am: Family Update
My family has so far had no run-ins with the wayward ex. They are still living in fear and being extra cautious but hopefully it will all blow over soon. I'm looking forward to thanksgiving when I hopefully will get to see some of my family, we have tons of people coming for dinner and while I'm a bit apprehensive about cooking, it will be great to see the kids and their parents. Gotta remember to take the turkeys out of the freezer on Sunday.

Tonight I'm really worried about my Sister in Law and her kids. For several years she lived in an abusive relationship and we didn't know, she was too proud to tell us and we lived too far away to see the signs. She finally got out and has been able to get divorced and rebuild her life with a wonderful new man whom she married and who treats her 4 children as if they were his own. Besides all the normal trauma that happens to children of abused mothers, the girls were molested by their father. This information didn't come out until just recently (about a year now) and my SIL has been trying to get her ex-husband arrested, without success. The crimes took place in one state and they both live in separate states now. She was able to get him to agree to sign away his parental rights to avoid having to pay child support, but the bureaucracy it takes to get someone charged and convicted of child abuse is ridiculous. Today he was to have appeared before a magistrate for what he thought was to sign the papers to release his parental rights, however it was actually for them to question him regarding the abuse of my nieces. His lawyer tipped him off and he ran, borrowed some money from his mother (who did not know about the abuse until today) and told her he was going to where they lived.

We're so worried about them! He knows where they are and is violent enough to hurt or kill them without a problem. Her new husband has sent her to stay elsewhere and has a few off duty policemen at their home as well as on duty police patrolling the neighborhood. I hope and pray that they will be safe.

When will we be able to pass federal laws against child molestation that allows the federal government to step in and arrest pedophiles when they are in another jurisdiction? These laws can no longer be left up to the states when in so many states there are still no clear cut sentences for repeat offenders and judges can still give a repeating offender who is obviously a predator a sentence as light as probation! Please pray for my family tonight, they need it.
